Courtney Potkey has been an official since 2006. She has officiated at all levels of the sport of tennis, from local junior tournaments to chairing collegiate events to professional line umpiring. She has worked as a line umpire at many professional events including Davis Cup, Fed Cup and the US Open, where she was selected for three women’s finals crews. In addition to working dual matches at all collegiate levels, Potkey has worked the NCAA Division III National Championships as a chair umpire and has also officiated many high-level Division I events such as the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships, the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships and ITA Kick-Off Weekend just to name a few. In 2012, Potkey received the Junior McGovern Award, which is one of the highest honors an official can receive.
Potkey’s officiating career began in Southern California, but life has since taken her to the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, where she resides with her husband Darren and their three small children: twin daughters Charlotte and Delaney, and son Nolan.
In her spare time, Potkey competes in local tennis leagues. She is also on the board for her local twin mom organization, NOWAMOM (Northwest Atlanta Mom of Multiples).
