2014 ITA All-Tournament Team Announced for ITA National Men's Team Indoor Championship
Ohio State's Peter Kobelt voted Most Outstanding Player
SKILLMAN, NJ (Feb. 21) - Peter Kobelt of Ohio State has been named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2014 ITA National Men's Team Indoor Championship, hosted by Texas A&M University and held at The Downtown Club at the Met and the Galleria Tennis and Athletic Club.
Kobelt is the first Buckeye to receive the honor, which he achieved after winning seven of his eight matches in leading Ohio State to its first national indoor title. The senior went 3-1 at first singles during the ITA National Men's Team Indoor Championship.

Ranked No. 23 in the ITA Division I Men's Singles Rankings, Kobelt defeated two Top 10 ranked players during the tournament. He dished No. 3 Mitchell Frank of Virginia only his fifth collegiate loss in a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 win during Ohio State's exciting 4-3 win over the Cavaliers in the semifinal, and then defeated No. 7 Ray Sarmiento of USC 6-3, 6-4 in the final.
Kobelt and his partner Kevin Metka, who are ranked No. 2 in the ITA Division I Men's Doubles Rankings, went 4-0 at first doubles at the tournament.

This is the seventh annual ITA National Men's Team Indoor All-Tournament Team. Voters included the head coaches from the 16 participating teams. Virginia's Somdev Devvarman was honored as the tournament's first ever Most Outstanding Player in 2008. Then, Virginia's Sanam Singh (2009), Michael Shabaz (2010) and Alex Domijan (2011) won the award. USC's Steve Johnson was selected as the Most Outstanding Player at the 2012 event, while Domijan won again in 2013.
About the ITA Division I National Men's Team Indoor Championships
The ITA Division I National Men's Team Indoor Championship is held annually each February. The men's event began in 1973 and will be held for the 40th time in 2014. The event features 16 participating teams: the 15 schools who won both of their matches during the ITA Kick-Off Weekend and the host site school. The tournament is held over four days, and begins on Friday with first round play, followed by quarterfinals on Saturday, semifinals on Sunday and the final on Monday.
