Armstrong Atlantic Remains Atop ITA Division II College Tennis Rankings

Rumenov, Hwang top singles rankings, Armstrong Atlantic and BYU Hawaii No. 1 in doubles

 ITA Division II Men’s Rankings | ITA Division II Women’s Rankings

SKILLMAN, NJ (Mar. 27) -- The men and women of Armstrong Atlantic have remained No. 1 in the latest ITA Division II College Tennis Rankings.  For the Armstrong men, it is the sixth consecutive ranking period they have been selected as the top team and for the women it is their fourth straight time. The national singles and doubles rakings have also been released with Armstrong’s Georgi Rumenov and BYU Hawaii’s Annie Hwang claiming the top spots in the singles rankings as well as the doubles rankings with partners Dan Regan and Sherry Liu, respectively.

Follow the Leader:
For the men, following Armstrong Atlantic is (in order): Barry, West Florida, Lynn, Hawaii Pacific, Rollins, Lander, Columbus State, Oklahoma Christian, and Concordia.  For the women, following Armstrong Atlantic is: Barry, Hawaii Pacific, BYU Hawaii, Abilene Christian, Columbus State, Saint Leo, Lynn, West Florida, and Francis Marion. 

Conference Count:
Men’s Top 25: Peach Belt – 5; Lone Star, Pac-West, and Sunshine State – 4; Gulf South and Heartland – 2; CACC, GLVC, Great America, and MIAA – 1. The Peach Belt Conference and the Sunshine State Conference each boast three schools inside the Top 10. Women’s Top 25: Sunshine State – 7; Pac-West – 5; Independent, Lone Star, and Peach Belt – 3; ECC, Gulf South, Heartland, and PSAC – 1. Like the men, the Peach Belt Conference and the Sunshine State Conference each have three teams inside the Top 10.

Double-Dip:
A total of 14 schools have both their men’s and women’s programs ranked inside the Top 25.  Armstrong Atlantic, Barry, Columbus State, Hawaii Pacific, Lynn, and West Florida find both their men’s and women’s team inside the Top 10.

Top 25 Caliber: Six new teams cracked the Top 25 this ranking period, five coming on the women’s side including Fresno Pacific, Tarleton State, UC San Diego, and Oklahoma Christian.  The lone team on the men’s side that made their way into the Top 25 was Midwestern.  Of all the teams, Oklahoma Christian made the largest leap, going from unranked to No. 22.
