Active Develops Online Registration Capabilities for
Membership, Conventions and Tournaments
SAN DIEGO, CA – March 13, 2008 – The Active Network,
Inc. (Active), a leading provider of application
services technology and marketing solutions for
community service and participatory sports
organizations, today announced that it has signed on
to provide online registration for the
Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA)
memberships, conventions and 85 ITA administered
college tennis tournaments. In addition, Active will
rebuild ITA's Web site,
www.itatennis.com.
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association, the
governing body of collegiate tennis in the United
States, is home to more than 15,000 college tennis
players and 1,500 collegiate coaches at
participating NCAA Divisions I, II, III and NAIA and
Junior/Community College schools. As the governing
body of collegiate tennis, the ITA promotes the
athletic, academic and leadership achievements of
the collegiate tennis community. The ITA administers
numerous men's and women's regional and national
championships, the ITA Collegiate Summer Circuit
presented by the USTA and the ITA Collegiate Tennis
Rankings for men's and women's tennis at the NCAA
Division I, II, III and NAIA and Junior/Community
College levels. The ITA also has a comprehensive
awards program for players and coaches to honor
excellence in academics, leadership, community
outreach and sportsmanship.
"We are always looking for ways to better serve our
membership," stated ITA Executive Director, David
Benjamin. "Beginning this spring, coaches will be
able to register for the various ITA programs and
events online through our new Web site. The Active
registration system will prove very helpful to our
coaches in minimizing paperwork and simplifying the
payment process. Offering Active's services is an
exciting step for us and we look forward to the
launching of our new Web site."
Active's technology will be integrated into the ITA
Web site, enabling the ITA to offer online
registration for three of its main components:
membership, conventions and tournaments.
"The ITA governs a key segment in the tennis market
as the college game develops both future pros and
delivers lifelong participants in the game. Active
is passionate about growing and developing the game
of tennis for all participants and we are very
pleased to be working with the ITA," stated Philip
Rowcliffe, senior director, tennis division of The
Active Network, Inc. "As the technology partner to
the USTA for their TennisLink applications and now
website services and online registration for the ITA
Active is solidifying their leadership position in
the tennis market as a full service technology
provider."
