UWW Tennis Teams (Men and Women) Both Ranked in Regional and National ITA Rankings
ITA rankings were released earlier this month for men’s and women’s tennis and UW-Whitewater was recognized regionally and nationally for both teams. Men: Team-nationally ranked #21 and regionally #8 in the Central Region. Individually-Byron Balkin is #14 in the region and Balkin/Mitch Osborne are #9 in the region as a doubles team. Women: Team-nationally ranked #29 and regionally #7 in the Central Region. Individually-Kalla Schaefer is ranked #4 in the region for singles and Schaefer/Alexandra Bayliss are ranked #2 in doubles in the region. Individual national rankings were not released for the women, but Kalla and Alexandra would have been ranked nationally most likely after Kalla finished in 7th place at the fall national ITA singles tournament and teamed with Alexandra to finish 8th at fall nationals in the ITA doubles tournament.
