The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is well represented on the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Time Women's Tennis Team, announced as part of the league's celebration of its centennial.  Warhawks on the honor squad include Wendy Seymour, Mary Sarbacker, Connie O'Neill, Lisa Bartnicki, and Kalla Schaefer (Madison/Madison Memorial).  Frank Barnes was named the coach of the team.

Seymour won the 1988 WIAC flight two singles title, then moved up to number one and captured the league championship in both 1990 and 1991.  In '88 she also played on the flight two doubles winning team, and the next three years (1989-1991) she teamed up to win the number one doubles crown, ending her career with five flight one championships.  Seymour holds the UW-W record for wins at number one in a season, notching 28 wins in two different seasons, and is number two on the school's list for wins at one singles, as well as number one for most wins at any flight.

Sarbacker was part of three WIAC flight one doubles championships, winning in 1985, 1986, and 1987.  Her 27-3 mark with Bartnicki for the 1987-88 school year is the school's best ever flight one doubles record, the same year she went 16-2 at flight two singles for the Warhawks.  She also garnered two WIAC flight two singles titles.  Sarbacker and partner Kerry Riedl ran off twelve consecutive wins at one doubles in 1985-86, still the school record. 

O'Neill was the foundation for much of the Warhawk tennis success that followed.  Playing in the early years as the conference was organizing women's tennis, she won both the number one singles and one doubles titles in 1982.  O'Neill is still among the top ten in seven categories of the UW-W record book, with her 21-3 mark at one singles in 1982-38 the best winning percentage in school history.

Bartnicki won the league's number one singles crown in 1985 and 1986, after winning flight two in 1984.  She also teamed with Sarbacker to capture the 1986 and 1987 WIAC number one doubles championship.  She went on to qualify for NCAA III tournament play in singles in 1985, and in doubles with Sarbacker in 1987 when they set the school record for the best one doubles record.  Bartnicki is second in the school record book in career victories at one doubles.

Schaefer won WIAC flight one singles titles in 2008 and 2011, and partnered for one doubles crowns in 2008, 2009 and 2011.  She won the Intercollegiate Tennis Association regional title in 2008 and 2011, advancing to the final eight in the national tourney to earn All-America honors.  She teamed with Alexandra Bayliss (Sheboygan/North) to add ITA doubles honors this fall.  She set the school record for wins at one singles, or any flight, with a 32-7 record in 2008-2009, and her 79 victories at one singles and 68 wins at one doubles are both UW-W records. 

Barnes is UW-W's tennis coordinator, coaching both the women's and men's teams.  He is in his eighth year with the women's team, which he has directed to six WIAC titles, including the last five championships.  He has been named WIAC Coach of the Year four times, and has directed the Warhawks to NCAA III tournament berths four years in a row.  His players have been named WIAC Judy Kruckman Scholar Athlete for women's tennis five times.  A Barnes' coached team last lost a WIAC dual meet in October of 2006.
