Team News

The HCC Lady Hawks start this years journey this Saturday, January 30th as they travel to Jacksonville to battle in-state rival and # 4 ranked Florida State College and also Young Harris.  The Lady Hawks open the year ranked # 1 Nationally, but understand that it is not how you start, but rather how you finish.  They found that out first hand as they began the year ranked # 1 in 2008-2009, but ended up finishing second at the National Tournament by 1 point.  The Hawks return Jillian O'Neill and Olivia Howlett, the # 1 and # 2 players in the country along with Courtney Spafford and Paige Palinkas.  The new additions to this year's team include Nachell Proctor, the Hawks # 1 player when they won the National Championship in 2008, Sandra Pickerill, Heidi Denn, and redshirt freshman Jasmyne Smith.  GO HAWKS!
