(1) Georgia, (2) Washington, (3) Stanford, (4) Columbia
Georgia starts the season right where it finished, at No. 3 in the ITA Team Rankings. The Bulldogs sport four players ranked in the Top 50, led by No. 12 Austin Smith and No. 21 Nathan Pasha, who went 15-3 and 13-3 in the fall, respectively. Ben Wagland and Hernus Pieters enter the tournament ranked No. 12 in the country after a run to the NCAA Doubles Quarterfinals last year.
The Columbia Lions (No. 43) will do battle with the Bulldogs in the first round. The Lions had a very strong fall, especially at the top of their lineup. Winston Lin (No. 8) went 15-2, recording two wins in each national tournament before bowing out. The No. 14 ranked duo of Ashok Narayana and Max Schnur captured the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Doubles Championship as part of a 10-win fall semester.
The other matchup pits No. 36 Washington against No. 40 Stanford. Both teams appeared in the NCAA Team Championships last season, as Stanford was ousted in the first round by LSU. The Huskies, however, edged out Notre Dame before losing to Ohio State in the Round of 32.
