(1) Kentucky, (2) Tulsa, (3) East Tennessee State, (4) North Carolina State
Coming off a stellar fall season, all six men expected to play in Kentucky’s singles lineup earned a Top 125 Campbell/ITA singles ranking at the start of 2012. That kind of top-to-bottom talent will make it tough for Tulsa, East Tennessee State and North Carolina State to come into Lexington and leave with an ITA National Team Indoor berth.
Seniors Eric Quigley and Alex Musialek were major contributors to Kentucky’s dominant fall. Quigley won the consolation title at the ITA All-American Championships before falling to Musialek in the final of the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships.
North Carolina State No. 1 Jaime Pulgar and Tulsa No. 1 Marcelo Arevalo are expected to compete during the ITA Kick-Off Weekend after missing the fall season. In doubles, the Golden Hurricane will be led by Clifford Marsland and Ashley Watling, who reached the final of the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships.
