USTA Multicultural Grant Application to attend the 2011 ITA Coaches Convention

In continuing our partnership efforts to support Varsity Collegiate Coaches, the USTA and ITA are proud to make available the USTA 2011 Multicultural Coaches Grants.  These grants are designed to help multi-cultural coaches to attend the ITA Coaches Convention.  Grant recipients will have the opportunity to attend the 2011 ITA Coaches Convention from Dec 13-16 including a special coaches workshop scheduled for December 13th.  All grant recipients will be recognized in an official press release and on the ITA and USTA websites.  The deadline for submission is Friday, October 7, 2011. 

Grant Eligibility and Criteria:

1.  Current ITA Membership

2.  Essay of up to 200 words to explain how attending the ITA Convention could be beneficial to the applicant.

3.  Hosting of and /or participation in the following USTA/ITA Partnership programs including:

     o Campus Kids’ Days

     o Campus Showdowns

     o Campus QuickStart

     o Tennis On Campus

4.  Support of other USTA programming including: Junior Tournaments, Junior Team Tennis, National Junior Tennis & Learning, Schools Program, etc.

Evaluation Process and Grant Distribution:

The selection committee will be comprised of members of the Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee of the USTA Collegiate Varsity Committee, USTA Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Team, USTA Player Development Staff, ITA staff, and the Black Coaches & Administrators. The selection committee will finalize all selections.

Grants are for one year in the amount of $1,000.00. Grant monies will be used to help cover the cost of lodging at the Naples Grande Resort and Spa, Convention Registration and other travel expenses.

Applicants must be in attendance at the ITA Convention from December 13-16, 2011, including a special Coaching Education Workshop scheduled for Tuesday, December 13th.
