In continuing our partnership efforts to support Varsity Collegiate Coaches, the USTA and ITA are proud to make available the USTA 2012 Multicultural Coaches Grants. These grants are designed to help multi-cultural coaches to attend the ITA Coaches Convention. Grant recipients will have the opportunity to attend the 2012 ITA Coaches Convention from Dec 15-18th including a special coaches workshop scheduled for Saturday, December 15th. All grant recipients will be recognized in an official press release and on the ITA and USTA websites. The deadline for submission is Sunday, October 14, 2012. Grant Eligibility and Criteria:
1. Current ITA Membership
2. Essay of up to 200 words to explain how attending the ITA Convention could be beneficial to the applicant.
3. Hosting of and /or participation in the following USTA/ITA Partnership programs including:
o Campus Kids’ Days
o Campus Showdowns
o Campus QuickStart
o Tennis On Campus
4. Support of other USTA programming including: Junior Tournaments, Junior Team Tennis, National Junior Tennis & Learning, Schools Program, etc.
Evaluation Process and Grant Distribution:
The selection committee will be comprised of members of the Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee of the USTA Collegiate Varsity Committee, USTA Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Team, USTA Player Development Staff, ITA staff, and the Black Coaches & Administrators. The selection committee will finalize all selections.
Grants are for one year in the amount of $1,000.00. Grant monies will be used to help cover the cost of lodging at the Waldorf Astoria Naples in Naples, Florida, Convention Registration and other travel expenses.
Applicants must be in attendance at the ITA Convention from December 15-18, 2012, including a special Coaching Education Workshop scheduled for Saturday, December 15th.Grant ApplicationPlease review the entire grant application below before starting to ensure that you have all the necessary information at your disposal.
