2008 ITA Attendance Race: Final Standings
The Virginia men and Texas A&M women finished the 2008 season atop the inaugural ITA Attendace Race standings for regular season home matches. Virginia drew 6,590 fans to its matches this season at the Boyd Tinsley Courts at Boar's Head (indoor) and Snyder Tennis Center. The Texas A&M women, like UVA, led the race from start to finish, packed 5,655 fans at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center this season.
Both programs also finished atop the race standings in average attendance. UVA drew an average of 599 fans for its 11 home matches. Texas A&M drew 566 for its 10 home matches.
Illinois and Texas A&M finished second and third, respectively, behind Virginia in both total and average men's attendance. Illinois' home match against Virginia back on January 25 drew a season-best 1,231 fans to the Atkins Tennis Center. Southern California's home match against UCLA on April 18 drew 980 fans and was the highest total for the month of April. All told, the top 14 men's programs in the race generated more than 50,000 in total attendance this season.
Texas A&M drew the largest crowd for a women's match this season, 806 against Texas on April 16. Baylor finished second to A&M in total attendance. Michigan finished second in average attendance. To follow is this season's final ITA Attendance Race standings:
