ITA Rankings System FAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions)

1. How do I register as a new user?
Ans: Detailed instructions for registering can be found at this link.

2. What information do I need to have before I register as a new user?
Ans: You will need your team password, which gives you the rights to manage your team information. The team password is the same one used last year, but if you do not remember it, please contact support@itatennis.com.

3. I’ve registered as a new user, what do I do next?
Ans. After you are registered as a new user, you’ll be able to immediately login to the Coaches Administration page. Once there, you’ll want to update your team roster and enter in your match schedule for the upcoming year.

4. How do I change my individual login password?
Ans: You can change your individual login password (the one associated with your username) on the Coach Administration page. Under the “Account Information” section (in the left margin), click on the “Change Account Password” link and follow the instructions on the screen. Make sure to press the “Change Password” button to save your new password into the system. (Link to instructions with screenshots)

5. How do I change the team’s password?
Ans: You can change your team password (the one you use after you login to the system) on the Coach Administration page. Under the “Account Information” section (in the left margin), click on the “Change Team’s Password” link and follow the instructions on the screen. Make sure to press the “Change Password” button to save the new password into the system.

6. I forgot my username and/or password. How can I retrieve this information?
Ans: You can retrieve your username and your password by clicking on the “Forgot your User Name or Password” link on the login page. Be sure to accurately enter your email address and click on “Submit”. Within minutes you will receive your original user name along with a new password (randomly generated by the system) via email. Keep in mind that you can change your password on the Coach Administration page.

7. I tried to retrieve my username and password but never received an email from the system. What should I do?

8. How do I add players to and/or edit my “team roster”?
Ans: You can edit your team roster on the Coach Administration page, under the “Team” section (in the left margin), click on “Manage Team Rosters”. To add a new player click on the “Add New” button (on the right margin). To edit a player’s information click on the “edit” link next to the player’s name. Your choices under the edit option are: editing the name, year in school, and their status, which you can set to “active”, “graduated”, “quit”, “transferred”, “deleted” or “duplicate”. Please note that even though there is a quick link to delete a player, it should not be used, you should choose one of the other options under ‘edit’. Use the “duplicate” option if a player has two or more listings in your roster, please make sure that before setting their status to “duplicate”, you consolidate all results under the player listing you plan to keep.

9. How do I enter my schedule?
Ans: You can enter and edit your team schedule on the Coach Administration page. You can enter in both dual matches and ITA sanctioned events & tournaments. (Link to instructions with screenshots)

To add dual matches to your schedule:
1. Go to the “Results” section (in the left margin), click on the "Add Team Records" link.
2. Enter in the dual match information in the top section. You do not need to fill in either line-up.
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. For the overall winner of the dual match, select the "Scheduled" option in the "Winner" drop down box that it right above the final score.
4. Leave the Final Score at 0 - 0.
5. Press the "Save" Button.
6. After hitting "Save" your team schedule for the matches that you have entered in to date will be displayed.

To add “ITA sanctioned events & tournaments” to your schedule:
1. Go to the “Results” section (in the left margin), and click on the "Add Team Tournament Scores" link.
2. On the next screen, if you know the tournament code you can enter it here, otherwise click on the "Find Tournament" button to search for the ITA sanctioned event or tournament.
3. To save, press the "Add Team Tournament Result" button.

10. If the tournament that I played in is not showing up in the system under ‘Find Tournaments’, what do I do?
Ans: All sanctioned tournaments will have been entered into the system by the ITA staff. An event must be sanctioned by the ITA to receive a tournament code and in order for the results to count towards ITA Rankings. Check the 2011-12 list of sanctioned tournament on the ITA Sanctioned tournament page to ensure that the event has been sanctioned properly by the tournament director.

All Conference Championships are eligible to receive a complimentary sanction. If the tournament has not been sanctioned with the ITA, please encourage the tournament director to do so, since only results from sanctioned tournaments will count towards rankings. Tournaments can be sanctioned after their completion.

If the tournament is not in the system, please contact us at support@itatennis.com to request that the tournament be added to the system. In the email include the following information: official tournament name, gender, tournament dates, division, host school, city, state, tournament director name, flight information – names of singles & doubles flights (e.g. Flight A, B, C / Flight 1, 2, 3), and size of draw. The tournament will be added into the system only after it has been sanctioned.

11. How do I view my current schedule?
Ans: To view your current schedule, go to the “Results” section (in the left margin), and click on the "Manage Team Records" link.

12. How do I enter and edit dual match results?
Ans: You can enter and edit your team’s results on your Coach Administration page. Under the “Results” section (in the left margin).

To edit a dual match result that you have already entered into your schedule:
1. Go to the “Results” section (in the left margin), click on the "Manage Team Records" link
2. Your team schedule that you previously entered for this year will be displayed.
3. Click on the corresponding “Add/Edit” button for the dual match that you wish to edit.
4. Click on the “Edit Schedule Details” button to edit the dual match information. To enter your results click on the “Add/Edit Scores” button.
5. The Add/Edit Scores option will display your dual match results entry screen. If you need to add an opposing player, click on the “Add New Opponent Player” button.
6. Enter in the players for each match, make sure you enter the score and select a winner (or “unfinished” if the match was not completed).
7. Enter in the final dual match score and select the winner.
8. Click the “Save” button to finish.

To enter a dual match result that you have already entered into your schedule:
1. Go to the “Results” section (in the left margin), click on the "Add Team Records" link.
2. Enter in the dual match information in the top section.
3. If you need to add an opposing player, click on the “Add New Opponent Player” button.
4. Enter in the players for each match, make sure you enter the score and select a winner (or “unfinished” if the match was not completed).
5. Enter in the final dual match score and select the winner.
6. Click the “Save” button to finish.
