2012 ITA COLLEGIATE VARSITY PERFORMER &
ITA COLLEGIATE VARSITY VOLUNTEER
OF THE YEAR AWARDS
Presented by the USTA

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), in conjunction with the USTA Collegiate Varsity Committee, has created two new awards to highlight meaningful contributions made to college tennis by members of the USTA sections, staff and volunteers. 

The ITA Collegiate Varsity Performer of the Year Award and ITA Collegiate Varsity Volunteer of the Year Award will recognize outstanding USTA section staff and volunteers for significant impact on college tennis during the year.

To nominate an USTA Sectional Staff member or Volunteer, submit the appropriate application form found below.
Nominations may be submitted by USTA Sectional Staff, Volunteers, Coaches or supporters of college tennis. We want to recognize the efforts of USTA Sectional Staff and Volunteers who help ITA collegiate coaches promote the different USTA programs and tennis in general. Help us to honor all deserving USTA Sectional Staff and Volunteers for their dedication to tennis and their work within their communities.

ITA Collegiate Varsity Performer of the Year Award presented by the USTA

Eligibility

All USTA Sectional Staff who provide a leadership role in encouraging, promoting, organizing and executing campus and community tennis programming while working closely with ITA member varsity coaches and colleges & universities are eligible for this award. Specifically, this award will recognize staff members who help coaches host Campus Showdowns, host Campus Kids’ Days, become recognized Campus QuickStart providers, and who in additional lead Collegiate Information Sessions, Showcases and Forums.

Award Selection

USTA Sectional Selection: Each USTA section will submit one staff member who then becomes a national nominee.

National Selection: An Ad-Hoc Selection Committee will be formed that will include members from the USTA National Varsity Collegiate Committee, ITA Staff, and USTA Staff members to review all sectional winners along with at-large nominations and to make the final selection of the national winner(s).

Recognition and Award Ceremony

The National Award winner(s) will be the guest of the ITA to attend the annual ITA Coaches Convention and the awards ceremony and will receive a travel stipend to attend the convention courtesy of the USTA. All winners (sectional and national) will receive an awards certificate and will be recognized on the ITA and USTA (sectional and national) websites. If possible, the national winner will also be invited to give a special presentation on partnership and best practices in a classroom session during the ITA Coaches Convention.

ITA Collegiate Varsity Volunteer of the Year Award presented by the USTA

Eligibility

All USTA Sectional Volunteers who provide a leadership role in encouraging, promoting, organizing and executing campus and community tennis programming while working closely with ITA member varsity coaches and colleges & universities are eligible for this award. Specifically, this award will recognize staff members who help coaches host Campus Showdowns and host Campus Kids’ Days, who in help lead Collegiate Information Sessions, Showcases and Forums and who help promote college tennis in the community.
