– The Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s 2016 Attendance Race is off to a flying start, with over 150 submissions gathered in the month of February.

The University of Virginia men and University of Florida women drew the most fans to its home matches last month.

The Cavaliers, who served as host for the 2016 ITA Division I National Men’s Team Indoor Championship, had 753 fans pack the Boar’s Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Virginia, for its #ITAIndoors quarterfinal contest on Feb. 13 against ACC foe Wake Forest. A total of 662 fans attended Virginia’s #ITAIndoors semifinal match versus TCU, and also saw 394 spectators attend a non-conference contest with UCLA. In all, the Cavaliers averaged 623 fans for its three reported home matches.

On the women’s side, the Gators eclipsed the 300-fan plateau for two of its matches at the Ring Tennis Complex in Gainesville, Florida, with 311 fans attending the Feb. 7 match versus USC and 307 on Feb. 14 against Clemson. The Gators, who drew 263 fans to its non-conference tilt with Baylor, averaged 294 fans for its three home matches.

In addition to honoring the teams that drew the most fans to a single match in February, March and April, the ITA will also recognize those teams that had more than 300 fans attend a match. Those matches are listed below in the men’s, women’s and combined (men and women matches played at the same time) Walls of Fame below.
