SKILLMAN, NJ (April 11) - With March matches in the books, the TCU Horned Frogs men's team and Georgia Bulldogs women's team are drawing the biggest crowds of the season.

 

In seven home matches in March, the Horned Frogs attracted 4,144 fans, which is 1,600 more than any other men's team in the country. The Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center hosted the biggest crowds last season, seating 8,714 fans at men's matches during the 2012-13 season.

 

On the women's side, Georgia has played in front of 2,449 spectators in six home matches. The No. 8 Bulldogs went undefeated at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex and Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Courts, surging as high as No. 2 in the ITA Division I National Women's Team Rankings in March.

 

The biggest crowd of the season was in March when 1,196 came out to watch the TCU men host then No. 3 Oklahoma at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center, a tight 4-3 win for Oklahoma. The Rice women hold the distinction of hosting the biggest crowd at a women's match, as 650 people attended Jake Hess Tennis Stadium to watch the Owls play a hard fought match against then No. 1 Stanford.

 

The Georgia women also averaged the biggest crowds in March with 360 people per match (408 overall) showing support. The TCU Horned Frogs drew the largest average crowds at men's matches this past month with 592 fans per match (508 overall).

 

The 2014 ITA Attendance Race spans the entire regular season, so please submit your April attendance numbers by May 5, with monthly winners to be announced later that week. The first ITA National Team Sportsmanship Award will be announced next week for March, with April submissions also due on May 5.
