The Ohio State Buckeyes, led by head coach Melissa Schaub, play host to Florida State, Alabama, and Harvard this weekend in Columbus during ITA Kick-Off Weekend. Here’s a quick round-up on each team (and don’t forget to bookmark the link above to tune into the PlaySight live stream all weekend):

Ohio State:
The Buckeyes enter the ITA Kick-Off Weekend ranked inside the top 10 and undefeated at 2-0. Coach Schaub is happy with where things are heading early on in the spring season with her team.

"I thought it was a good first day," Melissa Schaub, Ohio State head coach, said. "There are definitely things we need to work on and get better with, but you know that coming in. It's always a little bit of dealing with some nerves since it's the first match. It was good to get two matches in today and get a lot of different people in some matches. We got to look at some different doubles lineups. I feel pretty good with where we are right now."

Florida State:
The Seminoles won their first dual meet of the season last week against Columbia, and their road trip continues this weekend against Ohio State.

“I’m very proud of the competitive effort we showed today in our first match of the season,” head coach Jennifer Hyde said. “To come up here to New York and leave with a solid win over a very good Columbia team is exactly what our team needed. It was a complete team effort, and every one of our players had a hand in the work that was done to grab an early-season road win.”

Alabama:

The Crimson Tide, one of the latest schools to add PlaySight streaming technology to their campus, went 1-1 last weekend against a pair of good teams.

Last weekend, Alabama defeated Illinois, 6-1, before falling to Washington in a 4-3 thriller. The Tide's 86th-ranked singles player, Erin Routliffe, went 2-0 from the No. 1 slot, where she won both of her matches in straight sets. Sophomore standout Andie Daniell replicated the same results from the No. 2 singles position, as she won both of her matches in straight sets. Alabama won the doubles point in both matches last weekend, while not allowing the opposition to win one doubles contest in either match. Daniell and senior Danielle Spielmann went 2-0 from the No. 2 doubles spot on the weekend, marking the Tide's only doubles pair to win two matches on the weekend.

Harvard:
The Crimson (no tide) are looking for their first win of the season after dropping matches to Northwestern and DePaul last weekend.

The Crimson has one singles player nationally ranked, No. 111 Alexis Milunovich. Saturday's contest marks the sixth match between the two programs, as Alabama holds a 3-2 series advantage. The last time the two schools faced each other was in the 2005 season, when the Tide defeated Harvard in a 4-2 decision.
