The No. 9 Wildcats are undefeated to start the 2017 spring season, and look to continue the streak this weekend as they play host to three different teams on campus. This is the fifth time in history that Northwestern has started the season 6-0, and they have a chance to tie the program all-time mark of 9-0 with three victories.

Individually, the ‘Cats are entering the weekend on a high with their second consecutive conference honor.

Northwestern senior Sam Shropshire earned Big Ten Athlete of the Week accolades after leading the Wildcats to their first ever berth in the ITA National Team Indoor Championship, the conference announced Tuesday.
The award is the second in a row for the 'Cats after Konrad Zieba earned it last week. Shropshire went a perfect 4-0 over the weekend with two wins in doubles and two in singles to help Northwestern to a pair of 4-0 shutouts of Memphis and Georgia Tech during ITA Kickoff Weekend.

Boise State:
The Broncos travel East this weekend for Friday matchup with the ‘Cats and a Sunday matchup against Harvard. The 1-4 Broncos kicked off their spring season at ITA Kickoff Weekend in Los Angeles at UCLA.

The Crimson split their matches last weekend, losing to Tennessee on Saturday before defeating Bryant on Sunday.

Chicago's Big Ten Team also holds a narrow one-match advantage all-time over Harvard. The Wildcats lead the series, 8-7, and have won the last three going back to the 2015 season. The teams played twice that year with Northwestern winning a 4-3 match in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

The Blue Devils hit the road for a pair of matches – they will face off with Illinois before traveling to Northwestern. It will be a great test against two ranked teams acocording to head coach Ramsey Smith.

“This is a great weekend for us every year. We get to play two top teams. Northwestern has really progressed as a program. They’re playing really good tennis.

“I like the road matches,” Smith continued. “They present different challenges to our team, but really bring the team together. It’s kind of nice to get away from campus for a little bit and have full focus on the task at hand. These are two exciting places to play. I really like the challenge. It will be a great opportunity for our young team. We’re looking to finish the indoor portion of the season strong and get that little bit better.”
