– Two new teams entered the Top 10 as Oracle and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the updated Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings for Division I men on Wednesday.

UCLA and Wake Forest jumped into the Top 10, while Georgia (No. 6 last week) and Illinois (No. 7 last week) fell to the No. 11 and 12 spots, respectively. TCU continues to make a slow and steady push towards the top of the national rankings, as the Horned Frogs jumped one spot up to No. 2 this week. Texas A&M and Baylor also moved ahead one position, with the Aggies at No. 3 and Bears No. 4, while Oklahoma sits at No. 5. Virginia holds down the top-ranked spot for the fourth consecutive week.

Virginia Starts Title Defense Off Strong
The reigning NCAA Champions have now spent four weeks atop the Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings. Virginia kicked off its 2016 spring campaign with a pair of matches on Jan. 31. The Cavaliers dispatched of red-hot and 51st-ranked Kentucky 6-1, and also took down Eastern Kentucky 7-0. They received an automatic bid into the 2016 ITA Division I Men’s Team Indoor Championship (Feb. 12-15 at Boar’s Head Country Club in Charlottesville, Virginia) for hosting the event. Before serving as event hosts, Virginia will play home dual matches against Elon and Furman on Feb. 6, and No. 9 UCLA on Feb. 9.

#OracleITARankings Big Mover Of The Week

Michigan had a successful trip to New York City last weekend, as the Wolverines won a pair of Big Ten/Ivy Challenge matches at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Michigan toppled then-No. 34 Princeton 7-0 on Jan. 29 and a day later, defeated then-No. 47 Cornell 4-1. The Wolverines moved from unranked to No. 54 in this week’s rankings with the two victories.

Singles/Doubles Rankings Update
National singles and doubles rankings for Division I men will resume on February 10.
