– With the national team rankings taking a break this week for the 2016 ITA Division I National Men’s Team Indoor Championship, the focus shifts back to the national singles and doubles rankings as Oracle and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the updated Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings for Division I men on Wednesday.

Koepfer Maintains Hold On No. 1 Singles Ranking
Tulane’s Dominik Koepfer has yet to drop a set in the spring season for the Green Wave. The senior has defeated USC’s Max de Vroome, Harvard’s Nicky Hu and Dartmouth’s Dovydas Sakinis; all three ranked players at the time Koepfer faced them. In addition to possessing the top singles ranking, Koepfer is also positioned in the Top 10 in doubles, as he and teammate Chi-Shan Jao are currently ranked No. 7.

Aleks Vukic of Illinois didn’t play in the fall season, but he’s made a big impact in the spring for Illinois, posting a 7-1 record while splitting time between the No.’s 1 and 2 positions. In the latest national singles rankings, moved from unranked to No. 12.

Gators Take Over No. 1 Spot In Doubles
Florida’s Gordon Watson and Diego Hidalgo have continued their momentum from the fall season into the spring, and after sitting at No. 3 in the Jan. 6 national rankings, the Gator duo jumped ahead of North Carolina’s Brett Clark and Robert Kelly and Texas Tech’s Hugo Dojas and Felipe Soares (Watson and Hidalgo scored a 6-3 head-to-head victory over the Red Raiders duo on Jan. 24) to claim the nation’s No. 1 ranking.
