TEMPE, Ariz. –
Fresh off its successful title defense at the 2017 ITA Division III National Men’s Team Indoor Championship, Emory is the new No. 1-ranked men’s team as Oracle and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the latest Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Division III National Team Rankings on Thursday.

Emory University is not only home to the No. 1-ranked men’s team, but the women’s team also continues to hold down the top ranking. The Eagles, who are in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to compete in the eight-team 2017 ITA Division III National Women’s Team Indoor Championship, are the defending NCAA national champion and the No. 1-seed in the ITA’s final national championship event of the 2016-17 season.

Emory’s #ITAIndoors victory enabled the Eagles to soar past defending NCAA men’s national champion Bowdoin, who checks in at No. 2, followed by Middlebury at No. 3, Chicago at No. 4 and Washington University in St. Louis at No. 5.

Whitman made an impressive leap in the rankings, moving from No. 24 in the fall to No. 8 in the latest publication. The Blues (10-2) are currently riding a 10-match win streak. Kalamazoo (No. 19 from No. 36) and Mary Washington (No. 21 from No. 27) were other new additions to the national Top 25 ranking.

The women’s Top 17 remained unchanged from the Fall, with Brandeis (No. 21 from No. 28) and Linfield (No. 22 from No. 35) new entries in the Top 25.

The next set of national team rankings will be released on March 16, 2017.
