SKILLMAN, NJ – Mary Edman has been appointed as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s new Membership Coordinator. Edman, a 2015 graduate of Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, began her duties with the ITA on February 16.
"I am really fired up to announce Mary Edman has joined our team,” said ITA Chief Operating Officer Erica Perkins Jasper. “A former DIII player, Mary had an incredible college tennis experience and was tremendously successful on the court, in the classroom, and on campus at Colorado College. What stuck out the most during the interview process was her love of tennis and in particular her love of college tennis. I know she is motivated to give back to our member coaches and student-athletes to help improve their ITA experience."
At the ITA, Edman will serve as the point person for ITA member communication, provide support to ITA members and partners, manage the ITA membership database, administer the ITA awards program and play an integral role in the ITA Coaches’ Convention. In addition, she’ll work with ITA leadership on membership-based projects, including: the student-athlete experience, diversity, officials and governance.
A two-time All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference honoree (2013 and 2015), Edman helped guide the Tigers to a No. 15 West Regional ranking last season. Colorado College made its first appearance in a Conference championship match in 2015. Prior to her joining the ITA, Edman worked as a Graduate Assistant for Diversity & Inclusion at the United States Olympic Committee’s offices in Colorado Springs. She was also a USTA Junior Team Tennis Intern in the summer of 2014.
“I am so excited to have the opportunity to join the ITA,” said Edman. “I am looking forward to taking my experiences as a player and my passion for the sport to help grow collegiate tennis.
