Two teams crack the Top 30 for the first time this season
SKILLMAN, NJ (March 5) – The ITA has released its first Division III National Women’s Team Ranking of the spring season, with Johns Hopkins topping the list after claiming their first ITA Division III National Women’s Team Indoor Championship crown on Sunday. The Blue Jays entered the event ranked No. 11, but defeated then-No 10 DePauw, then-No. 3 Chicago, and then-No. 5 Carnegie Mellon to win the title.
Follow the Leader: Following Johns Hopkins, the rest of the Top 10 is (in order): Amherst, Williams, Emory, Chicago, Carnegie Mellon, Middlebury, DePauw, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, and Bowdoin.
Conference Count: A total of 15 conferences are represented in the Top 30 this week. The NESCAC landed the most teams of any conference in the Top 30 with seven, followed closely by the UAA with six. Next was the SCIAC with three ranked squads, while the Liberty League and NEWMAC each had two. The remaining 10 conferences were represented by one nationally-ranked team.
