ITA Announces Staff Changes for 2011-12

SKILLMAN, N.J. - The ITA announced the departure of Jason Berney, Media/Web Manager, and Alli Berney, Manager of Promotions and Membership, as well as the arrival of three new staff members: Joshua Rey and Nick Snow, who will each serve as Manager of Communications, and Ellah Nze, who will take on the role of Events and Project Management Intern.

Joshua Rey arrives at the ITA from Miami, Fla., where his first beat in tennis communications came as a student at Florida International University. While studying journalism, Rey managed to obtain significantly more coverage of FIU's women's tennis team in the school newspaper and on FIUSports.com. Since graduating in 2007, Rey has covered tennis at all levels: from writing incoming freshman profiles on TennisRecruiting.net to serving as the sport information specialist for tennis at the 2010 Asian Games and 2011 Universiade in China. He has also worked as a freelancer for the USTA at the US Open, Dunlop Orange Bowl and Dow Corning Tennis Classic. This summer, Rey worked for WTT and the Washington Kastles in a media support role.

Nick Snow, a native of Trussville, Ala., comes to the ITA after spending three years working with the University of Alabama Athletic Media Relations Department. While assisting with media relations efforts in several sports, he worked most closely with the Alabama men's and women's tennis teams. Some of his duties included running live scoring during home matches, writing match previews and recaps, and nominating players for conference and national awards. Nick graduated from the University of Alabama in May 2009 with a degree in Telecommunications and Film. He also received his Master of Arts in Human Performance with an emphasis in Sport Management from Alabama in December 2010.

Ellah Nze comes to the ITA with an extensive playing background in competitive tennis. Since picking up a racquet at age 5, she has competed at all levels of the sport, ranging from national/international junior tournaments to USTA pro circuit events. Most recently, Nze finished her tennis career at Duke University where she was a two-time ITA All-American and member of the 2009 NCAA Division I Women's Championship squad.  As a new member of the ITA staff, she is excited about the opportunity to remain involved with college tennis and gain valuable hands-on administrative experience.

As the governing body of collegiate tennis, the ITA promotes both the athletic and academic achievements of the collegiate tennis community. The ITA, which is comprised of nearly 1,700 men's and women's varsity coaches representing over 1,200 institutions, administers numerous regional and national championships and the Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings for over 20,000 college varsity student-athletes at the NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and Junior College levels. The ITA also has a comprehensive awards program for players and coaches to honor excellence in academics, leadership and sportsmanship. The official ITA web site is www.itatennis.com.
