Florida, Virginia Remain No. 1 in Campbell/ITA Team Rankings

Florida
, Virginia Remain No. 1 in Campbell/ITA Team Rankings

SKILLMAN, N.J. - It has been one week since the Campbell/ITA Rankings switched from a poll to a computer point-per-match formula, but Florida and Virginia continue to hold the top-spot. Despite not playing a match, Virginia has tightened its grip at the top by a near-double digit average. While the heated battle for No. 1 in the women's Campbell/ITA Rankings rages on with Florida holding just a one-point lead over Stanford.

Stanford actually posted a head-to-head win over Florida in the ITA Women's Team Indoor Final but UF can thank the strength of the Atlantic Coast Conference as the Lady Gators have defeated four ACC opponents who reside in the top 10.
They
capped off a busy road week with a 7-0 sweep against No. 16 Arkansas Sunday, after defeating instate foe and 22nd-ranked Florida State, 6-1, in Tallahassee. UF opened their Southeastern Conference schedulewith a 6-0 win against LSU in Baton Rouge, before Sunday's sweep that marked Florida's 16th consecutive SEC regular-season victory, which includes an 11-0 record in 2009-10 and the final three of the 2008-09 campaign.

Meanwhile, on the men's side, top-ranked Virginia enjoyed a bye week since, picking up wins capturing an unprecedented fourth straight ITA Men's National Team Indoor title. The Cavs, who have held the top spot now since the Campbell/ITA Preseason Rankings were released in the fall, now face a treacherous six-match roadtrip ahead with stops at LSU, Baylor, Oklahoma, Texas, Miami (FL) and Florida State.
