Patriot League Women's Tennis Championship Seeding and Schedule Announced
Preseason Favorite Army Captures Quarterfinal Bye

Center Valley, Pa. – After finishing 5-0 in League matches, preseason favorite Army has secured the top seed in the 2010 Patriot League Women’s Tennis Championship and has the quarterfinal bye, it was announced Tuesday.
The Black Knights edged Bucknell 4-3 on Saturday to cap an undefeated League season and wrap up the No. 1 seed in the Patriot League Tournament. Bucknell is the No. 2 seed after finishing its League slate with a 4-1 mark. Navy is seeded third after finishing 2-1 in League play in its first year of competition against Patriot League opponents. With a Patriot League mark of 2-2, Colgate wrapped up the fourth seed, while Lehigh secured the No. 5 spot with a 2-4 League record.
No. 6 Holy Cross (1-2) and No. 7 Lafayette (0-5) round out the seedings for the Tournament.
Friday’s quarterfinal matches are slated to begin at 10 a.m. The complete schedule follows below.
10 a.m. – No. 4 Colgate vs. No. 5 Lehigh
2 p.m. – No. 3 Navy vs. No. 6 Holy Cross
6 p.m. – No. 2 Bucknell vs. No. 7 Lafayette
10 a.m. – No. 1 Army vs. No. 4/5 Winner
2 p.m. – No. 3/6 Winner vs. No. 2/7 Winner
The Patriot League Championship Match will take place on Sunday afternoon at a time to be determined. The winner earns a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
In the event of inclement weather, the tournament will be moved indoors to The Sportsplex Tennis Courts at Turning Stone in Verona, N.Y.
