RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State assistant men’s tennis coach Jeff Kader has been tabbed as the next head coach at the University of Texas at San Antonio, as announced by the UTSA athletics department. Kader joined head coach Jon Choboy’s Wolfpack staff in 2007.

“I am very excited for Jeff and happy about the opportunity that he has in front of himself,” said Choboy. “Jeff has been an integral part of this program for several years now, and we will always appreciate his contributions to Wolfpack men’s tennis.”

Kader becomes the second assistant under Choboy at NC State to take a head coaching job. Previous assistant Matt Halfpenny is currently the head men and women’s tennis coach at Norfolk State.

Under Kader’s assistance, NC State posted 60 wins, including a No. 19 final Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings and an appearance in the NCAA Elite Eight in 2007.

“I enjoyed my time at NC State, and will miss both the university and the program,” said Kader. “I am very thankful for having the opportunity to work with Jon Choboy, and I am extremely appreciative of my time in Raleigh.”
