an Pollock Wins Pro Doubles Title In Spain

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Former three-time Texas A&M men’s tennis ITA All-American Conor Pollock (San Antonio, Texas) and his partner David Savic of Serbia recently won the ITF Pro Circuit doubles title at the LX Copa Challenge held this past week in Cartagena, Spain.
Pollock, who starred for the Aggies from 2006-09, and Savic were the No. 2 seeds in the 16-player doubles main draw and are currently ranked No. 912 in the world. The duo reached the finals with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Great Britain’s Robert Dee and Charlie Goode in the quarterfinals and a 6-3, 6-3 win over fourth-seeded Spaniards Juan Beaus-Barquin and Augustin Boje-Ordonez in the semifinals.
They later upset top-seeded and No. 462-ranked Pablo Santos-Gonzalez and Gabriel Trujillo-Soler of Spain by a count of 7-6 (6), 6-4, in the championship match.
