SKILLMAN, N.J. – After completing what has to be one of the most successful one-week runs for any team during the 2010 season, the Baylor Lady Bears soared to the No. 1 spot in the Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings. Meanwhile, the Virginia men continue to hold the top spot for the fifth-straight week, since capturing the ITA Men’s Team Indoor title.

In a matter of days, Baylor defeated three teams previously ranked in the top 13, that included a sweep over UCLA and USC on a road trip to Los Angeles as well as a revenge victory over North Carolina at home, in what was a rematch from the ITA Women’s Team Indoors, in which the runner-up Tar Heels won in the first matchup.

The Bears are now 9-2 this season against ranked teams, including a 4-1 mark against the Top 10, with the only loss at No. 8 Michigan.
