Virginia men, Texas A&M women hold on to Attendance Race leads
The Virginia men and Texas A&M women continue to set the pace in the second annual ITA Attendance Race. The standings reflect matches through the month of March. The Virginia men are tops in total attendance with 4,482 fans through 14 matches this season. The Cavs continue to lead Tulsa and Illinois but it is Mississippi who drew in an astounding 2,332 in the month of March to put the Rebels near the top of the standings.
Ole Miss has taken control of the average attendance with an average of 532, almost 200 more than Texas A&M (349), which led in last month’s standings. Mississippi has also posted the top three single match totals on the season, surpassing the 800 mark twice in the month of March.
Texas A&M continues to lead the way in all of the women's categories with 3,389 total fans, including the four of the top five match totals, all of which surpassed the 500 mark, good for a 424 per match average, which also leads the nation by an average attendance of nearly 250.
Highlighting the ITA Attendance Race thus far are the more than 25,000 fans taking in home matches for the top five men's and women’s race leaders. Of the top five men’s and women’s leaders, nine out of 10 are currently ranked in the top 25 of the Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings.
