In_The_Spotlight_Logo_small ITA: In the Spotlight features the No. 1 Women's Doubles team in the Cambpell/ITA College Tennis Rankings, Renata Kucerkova & Anastasia Petukhova of Fresno State. This is their 3rd consecutive week at No. 1 in the doubles rankings. This pair won the 2008 ITA National Indoor Doubles title, captured the ITA Northwest Regional Doubles Championship, reached the finals of the ITA All-American Doubles tournament and finished the ‘08 fall season with a 12-1 record.



KucerkovaRenataRenata Kucerkova is a junior at Fresno State and she is from Rosnov, Czech Republic. She is currently ranked No. 1 in doubles with partner, Anastasia Petukhova and No. 89 in Singles in the Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings.

Favorite memory on a tennis court:
At the moment, my favorite memory on the court was when Anastasia and I won the ITA National Indoors Doubles Championship this past November.

Favorite non-tennis activity:
I like alpine skiing, swimming, biking and all other kinds of sports.

What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?
I see myself working for some international company, having loving family, traveling, working out and playing tennis here and there

Describe your game in three words?
Solid, Consistent & Aggressive

Favorite tennis drill?
It is hard to say, I like a variety in drills so I always find something I like in every drill.



PetukhovaAnastasia_31_2316_ctofeaturedAnastasia Petukhova is a junior at Fresno State and is currently studying to earn a degree in Business. She is from Moscow, Russia and is currently ranked No. 1 in doubles with partner, Renata Kucerkova and No. 28 in Singles in the Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings.

Favorite memory on a tennis court:
Winning the ITA National Indoors Double Championship title with Renata. We have been close at All-American and knew that it was the best chance we had till the end of the 2008 year, so we tried to go through all the emotions and nerves and came out winners in that battle. It was unbelievable!

Favorite non-tennis activity:
I love all kinds of sports, like golfing, biking, and more. I also love to read and be updated on new technologies coming up.

What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?
I want to have my own a multimillion dollar company, maybe even more than one. I also want to have a happy family and have houses in LA, NY, Paris, and Moscow

Describe your game in three words?
Aggressive, Fast, and Unpredictable

Favorite tennis drill?
For doubles, I like doing 2 up - one back and hitting middle or corners; for singles, I like doing target exercises.
