ITA: In the Spotlight highlights the most outstanding players in the 2009 Blue Gray Tennis Classic in Montgomery, Ala. held March 19-22. Tennessee's John-Patrick Smith was awarded the tournament MVP and Saketh Myneni of Alabama won the Sportsmanship Award.
John-Patrick Smith is a sophomore at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His hometown is Kelso-Queensland, Australia. He is currently ranked No. 7 in singles and No. 8 in doubles with partner Davey Sandgren in Campbell/ITA National College Rankings. He was awarded the Blue Gray Tennis Classic Tournament MVP after winning all four of his matches, three of which were over ranked players.

Myneni was awarded the Sportsmanship award at the 2009 Blue Gray Tennis Classic.

What is one thing you would change about the sport of Tennis?
The scoring system. Make it 1, 2, 3 game instead of 15, 30, 40 game. The reason is to make it easier for the kids or any person to learn the scoring system quickly.
