Foster Earns Head Coaching Job at Wichita State
The two-time Southwest Region Assistant Coach of the Year award winner starts a new chapter in his coaching career

FORT WORTH, Texas – Former TCU women’s tennis assistant coach Colin Foster was named the head women’s tennis coach at Wichita State University Wednesday.

“It’s been an absolute pleasure working with Colin,” TCU head coach Jefferson Hammond said. “It’s bittersweet to see him leave, but I am so excited to see him get this opportunity. Colin has been such a big part of the program in my three years here. He’s really been my right hand man."

“His attention to detail, demeanor with the players and overall attitude is phenomenal. He will be missed here for sure. He has meant a lot to our program.”

Foster came to the Metroplex in the fall of 2006, helping to lead TCU to a combined record of 54-28 and a trio of NCAA Tournament appearances during his tenure. The Frogs’ were also ranked among the nation's top-30 in each his three seasons. Foster also garnered the Southwest Region Assistant Coach of the Year award in 2008 and 2009.

The Frogs are scheduled to take on the Shockers this season, traveling to Wichita State on March 26.

“It will be exciting to play at Wichita State this spring,” Hammond said. “It will be a little strange coaching against Colin instead of with him, but it will be a lot of fun.”
