Armstrong Atlantic, BYU-Hawaii remain No. 1 in Division II Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings
Top spots: The Armstrong Atlantic men and BYU-Hawaii women’s tennis teams held on to the top spot in the Division II Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings. Armstrong Atlantic (24-1) entered the 2009 spring season with the No. 1 ranking until Georgia College and State recorded an upset victory over the Pirates, ending their 38-match win streak and handing AASU its first regular season Peach Belt Conference loss since 2005. Since that loss, the 2008 NCAA Division II Champions have posted 14 wins against top 25 opponents, captured the Blue-Gray Small College Classic title and won a fifth-straight Peach Belt Conference title. On the women’s side, BYU-Hawaii (25-0) wrapped up another perfect regular season while continuing to roll over its competition, outscoring their opponents 199-8 this season. Coach David Porter has led the Seasiders to seven NCAA Team Championships and a 346-3 record since joining Division II in 1999.
Rounding out the Top 10: Following Armstrong Atlantic in this week’s men’s top 10 is (in order): Barry, Lynn, Valdosta State, South Carolina-Aiken, Hawaii Pacific, Georgia State and College, Ouachita Baptist, Columbus State and West Florida. On the women's side, BYU-Hawaii is followed by (in order): Lynn, Armstrong Atlantic, Valdosta State, West Florida, Abilene Christian, Francis Marion, Columbus State, Rollins and UC San Diego.
Conference Count: Men's Top 25: Peach Belt – 5; Sunshine State – 4; Gulf South and MAIAA – 3; Conference Carolinas, GLVC and Lone Star – 2; GLIAC, GLVC, Heartland, NYCAC and Pacific West – 1. Four different conferences placed at least one team in the top 10, including three from the Gulf South and four from the Peach Belt. Women's Top 25: Peach Belt and Sunshine State – 6; Gulf South – 4; Lone Star – 3; Pacific West – 2; CCAA, GLIAC, Heartland and PSAC – 1. Six different conferences placed at least one team in the top 10, including three from the Peach Belt.
Twice as Nice: Thirteen Division II schools have both their men’s and women’s programs ranked inside this week’s top 25.

Mark Your Calendar: This year's NCAA Division II Championship begins May 7-8 or 8-9 for both men and women with first and second round play at campus sites. The final 16 men’s and women’s teams face off May 13-19 at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida, hosted by Rollins College and the Central Florida Sports Commission.
