(7/3/08) - During the mid-June NCAA Committee Meetings, two ITA legislative proposals were reviewed and voted on.  The Championships/Competition Cabinet voted to sponsor the proposal to permit an insitution to have four student-athletes compete in a singles/doubles tournament without using an institutional date of competition.  And the Academics/Eligibility/Compliance Cabinet approved sponsorship of the ITA proposal to limit a mid-year transfer (from one four-year institution to another four-year institution and who is receiving athletics related aid) from being immediately eligible for competition.
Once each of these proposals has been given an official Proposal Number we plan to move forward with our lobbying efforts to gain NCAA membership-wide support.  These proposals will be considered for a final vote in early 2009 and if approved will be implemented in August, 2009.
