NJCAA Men’s Championships
May 12-16 at Collin Country Community College in Plano Texas
Division I: Laredo (Texas) captured the NJCAA Division I title, six points ahead of second-place Tyler. Rounding out the top five were Abraham Baldwin, Vincennes and (tie) Seminole/Johnston Co. The title is the fourth straight for coach Jamie Donjuan's program (l).
Division III: Coach John LaRose (r) led Onondaga Community College (N.Y.) to the NJCAA Division III national title. Its Onondaga’s first national title and ended Oxford College of Emory University’s bid for a third straight title

California Community College Championships
May 8-10 at El Dorado Tennis Center in Long Beach, Calif.
Team Champions: Coach Nelson Emery’s Ventura squad beat Fresno City 5-2 in the team final to cap a perfect 21-0 season. Ventura notched wins at Nos. 3-6 singles and closed out the match at No. 3 doubles. FCC was looking for its first title since 2004 and finished the season with a 15-3 record.
Singles and Doubles Champions: Riversaide freshman Daniel Coehlo beat Ventura’s Hassan Abbas 6-2, 6-2 in the singles final to become the first Riverside player to win the singles title. Ventura’s Abbas and James Preston beat Cerritos’ Doug Edwards and Jason Wall 6-2, 6-4 in the doubles final. Ventura teams have now won three of the last five California doubles titles.
