
Another Week on Top of ITA College Tennis Rankings for Virginia, North Carolina
Domijan, Embree atop singles rankings, Duke and USC No. 1 in doubles
Follow the Leader: For the men, following Virginia is (in order): USC, UCLA, Ole Miss, Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Duke, Ohio State, and Kentucky. On the women’s side, North Carolina is followed by Duke, Texas A&M, Florida, UCLA, Nebraska, USC, Alabama, Michigan, and Northwestern.
Conference Count: Men’s Top 25: SEC – 7; ACC – 4; Big Ten, Big 12 & Pac-12 – 3; Big East, Conference USA, Ivy League, Missouri Valley, & WCC – 1. The SEC boasts four men’s teams inside the Top 10 while the ACC and the Pac-12 each have two. Women’s Top 25: ACC & SEC – 6; Pac-12 – 5; Big Ten – 4; Big East, Big West, Big 12 & Conference USA – 1. The Big Ten and the SEC both have three women’s teams in the Top 10.
Double-Dip: A total of 11 schools have both their men’s and women’s programs ranked inside the Top 25. Duke, UCLA, and USC find both their men’s and women’s teams inside the Top 10 this week.

Top 25 Caliber:
Four teams made the leap into the Top 25 this week, including the men from
Baylor and Notre Dame as well as the women of Arizona State and Georgia Tech.
Baylor jumped 19 spots to No. 19 after a convincing 6-1 win over former No. 5
Kentucky, while Notre Dame moved ahead five spots to No. 22 after a 4-1 win over
former No. 13 Illinois. On the women’s side, Arizona State advanced nine spots
in the rankings to No. 18 following a 5-2 win over former No. 25 Memphis while
Georgia Tech climbed to No. 25 after registering a 4-3 win over former No. 16
Florida State.
Top 75 Newcomers:
A total of 12 teams (eight women, four men) made their way into the Top 75 this
week. Of the 12 teams, eight are making their 2013 debut: Men – Pacific
(California) and Nevada; Women – SMU, Iowa, Chattanooga, Kansas, East Carolina,
and North Florida.
