SKILLMAN, NJ (April 17) - In the second ITA Junior/Community Colleges National Team Rankings of the spring season, the ASA College men and Tyler Junior College women earned the No. 1 team rankings.

ASA held its top ranking, which was the first by any sport at the school. The Avengers haven't played since knocking off previously No. 1 Tyler Junior College. The Top 5 remained the same, with Mesa Community College making the biggest move in the Top 10, shuffling three places to No. 7. The Thunderbirds are 13-4 with a perfect 6-0 conference record and have jumped 14 spots from their No. 21 preseason ranking.

With no losses to junior/community college competition thus far this season, the Tyler Junior College women's team holds its No. 1 post, where the Apaches have stood since April 16, 2010. The Apaches have bested three ranked opponents this month, including a decisive 9-0 victory over No. 9 Cowley County Community College, who moved up to No. 4 this week after notably defeating No. 8 Collin College.

Johnson County Community College made the biggest jump, improving eight spots to claim the No. 16 ranking. The Cavaliers bested previous No. 16 Seward County Community College 5-4 with strong performances at the bottom half of their lineup.

In the first ITA Junior/Community Colleges National Singles and Doubles Rankings of 2014, Mate Cutura held his No. 1 singles ranking on the men's side with an 18-5 overall record. He is followed by Tim Srkala (ASA), Christian Coetzee (Collin), Warren Kuhn (Vincennes) and Arturo Pinazo (Laredo). The ASA pair of Tim Srkala and Jack Boling claimed the top doubles spot with an 11-1 record and three Top 10 wins.

On the women's side, previously unranked Natallia Vavulina of ASA's undefeated campaign was enough to earn her the No. 1 ranking. Her last five wins came against Top 25 opponents. She is followed by Fausthy Pietersz (Tyler), Niriantsa Rosolomalala (Georgia Perimeter), Paula Lopez (Seward) and Ann Ruzir (Cowley). Tyler's Fausthy Pietersz (No. 2 in singles) and Joanna Savva held their top doubles ranking with their impressive 23-0 record.

Final regional rankings were also released and can be viewed here. ITA Region III and IV Women's Rankings will be published in the next few days.
