TEMPE, Ariz. – The 2017-18 collegiate tennis season is now officially underway.
Individuals in Divisions II and III, NAIA and JUCO are taking to their respective courts to compete in the 2017 ITA Regional Championships Presented by Oracle. Over the next three weeks, 61 regional events spread across the four divisions will take place, with more than 8,000 players expected to participate.
Singles and doubles champions from each regional tournament gain automatic entry into the 2017 ITA Oracle Cup, which takes place October 11-15, from Rome, Georgia. Draw updates and a complete listing of singles and doubles champions per region will be posted on the ITA Regional Championships Presented by Oracle event page, located here.
Formerly known as the Small College Nationals, the ITA Oracle Cup has history dating back to 1986, and it is the only singles and doubles national championship event for the Division II and NAIA levels.
Each division represented will feature eight singles players and eight doubles teams, competing in their respective draws. The four divisional champions (men and women) will receive wild cards into the 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, while the four divisional doubles champions advance to the Oracle Cup semifinals and finals draws, with those champions (one men, one women) moving on to the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships.
The 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships will be held November 1-5 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California, and the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, California.
