Coaches (and their guests) may choose to attend the Full Convention (December 12th-15th), which includes the USTA Junior Showcase, all meetings, events, and clinics—or simply attend the Mini Convention (December 12th-13th), which includes the USTA Junior Showcase, ITA Membership & Roundtable meetings, ITA Mini Trade Show & Passport Party and some educational clinics.
Clinics and Workshops (Saturday, Dec. 13th – Monday, Dec. 15th)
Three days of informative sessions given by ITA coaches and prominent members of the USPTA, PTR, USTA, as well as experts in the fields of sports medicine, sports psychology, sports promotion, sports fitness and health.
ITA Mini-Trade Show & Passport Party (Saturday, Dec. 13th, 5:30 – 8:30PM)
Meet tennis industry exhibitors at the ITA Mini-Trade Show. Have your "Passport" verified at all of the booths to be eligible to win one of many gifts donated by the exhibitors. Meet and greet old and new friends. Light Refreshments.
ITA Membership & Awards Reception & Banquet (Sunday, Dec. 14th, 7:00-10:00PM)
The ITA, Wilson Sporting Goods and USTA cordially invite you to honor the 2014 Wilson/ITA Coaches of the Year & USTA/ITA Campus & Community Outreach and the USTA/ITA Campus QuickStart Provider of the Year award winners. Eric Butorac will be the featured speaker and awards presenter, courtesy of Wilson.
ITA Membership Appreciation & Farewell Cookout (Monday, Dec. 15th, 1:00PM)
The ITA cordially invites you to attend a court-side cookout and enjoy playing in a Round Robin tennis outing, or just relax court-side as a spectator to mingle with friends - old and new - before departing for home. This is a great opportunity to network with peers.
*USTA Junior Showcase. (Friday, December 12th, 10:30 am). A recruiting event, hosted by USTA Player Development, showcasing juniors in competitive match play. All College Coaches registered for the ITA Convention are welcome to attend. No Charge. To register a player, contact Troy Venechanos directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
One-on-One Doubles® Prize $ Championships. (Friday, December 12th, 6:15-9:15 pm). Consolation Draw offered. Limited to first 32 entrants. $30 Entry Fee. $500 for First Place (with full draw). General Membership Meeting (8:00-9:15am) featuring keynote speaker Dick Gould (Stanford)
Dick Gould has served at the John L. Hinds Director of Tennis since 2005 after leading the Stanford men’s tennis program for 38 successful seasons (1966-2004). Gould is the winningest coach in Stanford men's tennis history with a record of 776-148 for a winning percentage of 84 percent, including 17 NCAA Team Championships. He coached 10 NCAA singles champions and 7 NCAA doubles championship teams, 50 ITA All-Americans. During his tenure, Gould helped mold 16 Davis Cup Team members, 13 different Grand Slam champions (singles, doubles, mixed), eight Olympians and seven players who attained a No. 1 ATP doubles ranking. Gould is a member of the Head/Penn Advisory Staff and Speaker’s Panel and has been an honorary member of the USPTA since 1981. He was awarded the USTA Educational Merit Award in 1983 and named the ITA Coach of the Decade for the 1980s and 1990s. Gould’s other honors include the Kenneth M. Cuthbertson Award for “Exceptional Service to Stanford University” in 2002 and the Positive Coaching Alliance “Lifetime Achievement Award” in 2012. He spearheaded a $20 million facility renovation drive that has resulted in The Taube Center, the host of the first ever combined Men’s & Women’s NCAA Championships (May 18-29, 2006), and again in 2011. During Gould’s tenure, $18 million has been raised to completely endow the men’s tennis program.
